Professional Credentials

In addition to my creative and restoration work, I volunteer with many influential groups and am a member of many professional organizations both locally and nationally.

I am an American Quilt Society certified appraiser.  As an appraiser, I have the knowledge to assign value to fiber arts and quilts for insurance and legal purposes.  This certification requires several years of preparation, education, and hands-on work as well as passing a written and oral examination.  This small, elite group is comprised of less than 100 people nation wide.

I am the vice president for the Quilts of Valor board of directors.  Quilts of Valor's mission is to wrap American veterans of war in "the love of a grateful nation."  In my volunteer position, I have the honor of working with industry professionals and the military to spread awareness for this organization that is dear to my heart.

I am an active member of the American Quilt Study Group (AQSG), American Quilters Society, Cabin Branch Quilters, Quilters Unlimited, and several quilt dating groups in my area.

Each of these groups and positions has been influential in assisting me to grow as a professional and become the artist I am now.
